Through this post, we review the most common necklines and how to match it to the different types of necklaces to best go with them.
Cuello redondo / Crew Neck

The crew neck is a pretty common style for tops, dresses and t-shirts of course! and it can go from a variety of depths and sizes.
For regular crew necks - like the one on the picture- the collar necklaces fit perfectly! The secret with these and bib necklaces is, that the space between the necklace and your top or dress, is non existent. Giving an illusion that the embellished necklace is actually part of your garment.
If you are already rolling your eyes and wondering what could be a more "age appropriate" choice, chokers will always be your choice.
Escote tipo Barco / Boat Neck

Boat necks are very elegant, but it also seems like is one of the necklines that causes more trouble while choosing accessories.
The formula for wearing this kind of neckline in a dress or top, and killing it, is to match it with long necklaces creating a visual contrast. It could be a a long beaded necklace, a long chunky chain, or a combination of both, just a long pearl string would be a marvelous choice as well.
Another option I've notice among celebrities and fashion blogs , is to go to the complete opposite, and go for short and tiny necklaces.
Strapless
When it comes to matching strapless necklines with a necklace, sky is the limit! Just keep in mind that if you are going for a choker, a short statement necklace, or bib necklace, is super important that the necklace ends right above the edge of your garments edge.
If you have a long necklace that you really want to use with this outfit, make sure it doesn't only "touches" the edge of your neckline, but that it actually rests on the garment. This is a good choice to elongate your figure.
Cuello drapeado / Cowl Neck
Ohh the cowl neck! So romantic and elegant, yet so hard to match with the appropriate necklaces.
Just as other neck types, the cowl neck could vary in it's depth, or length, just as the fabrics or materials used, so you want to make sure that the necklace of your choice fits right in between the cleavage. You can go for a choker, or a short chain with a pendant - in between 36 and 46 cm long- but just make sure that it doesn't look too clutter. If you try several options and it still doesn't feel/look good, go for long stylish pendant earrings and voilà!
